The term flippening refers to a hypothetical situation when the value of Ether (the coin of the Ethereum network) exceeds the value of Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the world’s largest cryptocurrency, followed by Ethereum. The fall in the supremacy of Bitcoin is the rise of other cryptocurrencies. Since its launch, Bitcoin’s dominance has been slowly fading away. Bitcoin now represents 44% of cryptocurrencies.
At present, Ethereum has already gained alot. Looking at how Bitcoin is losing its dominance, Ethereum can become the largest coin in the world. Back in 2021, the price of Bitcoin doubled, however, the price of Ether increased fivefold. Over the past few years, Bitcoin has significantly lost its dominance in the crypto market.
