Browser Extension

Basically, a browser extension is a plugin for your web browser that adds new functionality and features which were not originally included by the browser's creator. Browser extensions can change the user interface while providing web service capability to a browser.

Browser extensions are software that can execute different controls and filters to alter how a user visits a web page or views information from a certain web service. It may use comparable application program interfaces (APIs) to JavaScript on a web page, and extensions can even access their own set of APIs.

In addition to being used to improve the functioning of a website, Browser extensions can also be used to eliminate undesired components, such as pop-up adverts and auto-play capabilities in online videos.
